🎉☕✨ Fancy Day Fun in First Grade! ✨☕🎉
Yesterday, Mrs. Chappel's first grade class celebrated "Fancy Day" in style with a special tea party and an awards ceremony! 🫖🎖️
The event was a joyful way to honor all the incredible accomplishments and amazing growth these students have made throughout the year. From learning to read to becoming kind classmates and curious thinkers — they've truly blossomed! 🌟📚💡
Great job, first graders! We are so proud of how hard you worked and everything you've achieved this year! 💛👏

AP Biology students made a special visit to Pine River to teach some third graders all about Water Quality and its impact on the environment! Together, they explored the four essential elements of a healthy ecosystem — food, water, shelter, and space — and learned how water, both surface and groundwater, plays a crucial role in the health of plants and animals.
Students got hands-on with a fun activity: creating their own filters to clean dirty water, all while applying the scientific method to test and improve their designs.
A big thank you to Mrs. Crambell for organizing this engaging and educational experience!

Our 6th graders went on their annual, exciting and fun-filled field trip to the Midland Roll Arena! They enjoyed skating with their friends, learning new tricks and cheering each other on. It was a memorable day full of laughter, fun and lots of energy!

On Thursday and Friday, the 5th graders from Pine River enjoyed their annual trip to Mystic Lake. A big thank you to the 5th grade teachers and chaperones who helped make this memorable experience possible. The students had a good time canoeing, practicing archery, playing team-building games, and participating in many other fun activities!

Students in our Project Lead The Way (PLTW) class programmed robots to trace the letters of "LANCERS" in our Care Center area. PLTW is a hands-on STEM program that empowers students to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills through real-world challenges. These photos capture the excitement and teamwork as students brought their robotic calculations to life!

Last Friday, BCMS hosted the 5th graders from Pine River and Floyd Elementary for their annual 6th Grade Orientation. This year's theme was "Under The Big Top," and our Peer 2 Peer group got to run the carnival. Throughout the second semester, 5th-grade students were paired with 6th-grade pen pals and wrote letters back and forth. Students got to meet their pen pals, play some fun carnival games, learn all about the middle school, and get all their questions answered about life at the BCMS. It was a beautiful day, and all of the students had a blast. We are looking forward to welcoming you to BCMS in the fall.

Congratulations to Morgan Dukarski for winning the middle school Battle of the Books competition! She was honored at lunch by Miriam Andrus from the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library and presented with a trophy and a check for $250 in which Morgan will help spend in selecting some new books for our library. We are so proud of Morgan as this is the second year in a row she has won this competition.

Today, we had a special visit from Judy Main, a former 2nd grade teacher who returned to her old stomping grounds to share her love of books with Mrs. Dopp’s 2nd grade class. Mrs. Main brought along a delightful collection of books and matching Beanie Babies, creating a fun and engaging reading experience for the students. We are always thrilled when former teachers come back to share their passion and continue to inspire our kids. Thank you, Mrs. Main, for bringing your joy and generosity to BCEL today!

Our middle school art students have been having a blast working with clay, creating fun and unique pieces in class! The finished projects look amazing and showcase the creativity and effort each student put in. Best of all, students get to take their clay creations home as special keepsakes to remember their hard work and artistic journey.

Mrs. Chappel has had a great start to Career Week!
So far, 1st graders at in her BCEL classroom have heard from:
-Patrick McElgunn: entrepreneur
-Sarah Owens: education consultant
-Matt Smith: realtor
-Cliff Coston: National Guard Supply Sergeant
-Sarah Pagano: airport manager (not pictured, oops!)
-Teresa Switala: mental health therapist
It's been so interesting hearing their questions and connections as they learn about all the different jobs.

🎉 A Fond Farewell to Three Incredible Educators 🎉
It’s with full hearts and deep gratitude that we celebrate the retirement of Mrs. Lacey, Mrs. Lombard, and Mrs. Gledhill, three extraordinary women who have dedicated their careers to shaping minds and touching lives here in the Bullock Creek School District.
These remarkable teachers have poured years of passion, wisdom, and unwavering commitment into their classrooms—leaving a lasting mark not only on their students, but also on families, fellow staff, and the entire school community. Whether it was a kind word, a creative lesson, or simply believing in a child when they needed it most, they made magic happen every day.
💛 Mrs. Lacey inspired curiosity and confidence in every student lucky enough to cross her path.
💛 Mrs. Lombard brought heart and humor to her teaching, building bonds that will never be forgotten.
💛 Mrs. Gledhill led with grace, compassion, and a fierce dedication to her students’ success.
Their impact goes far beyond the walls of the classroom—they have helped shape the spirit of Bullock Creek. Though we are heartbroken to see them go, we are so incredibly excited for all that awaits them in this next chapter.
You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in every life you’ve touched. 🖤💛
Thank you, Mrs. Lacey, Mrs. Lombard, and Mrs. Gledhill. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement! 🥹✨

🎶🏟️ The 8th Grade & BC Varsity Band Took Over the Loons Stadium Today! 🏟️🎶
What an unforgettable day for our Bullock Creek bands! A sea of Black and Gold filled the stadium as our talented 8th grade and varsity band students proudly represented our school.
Fans were welcomed with high energy as the band performed pep songs outside the gates, setting the tone for an incredible afternoon. A special moment came when Deputy Brandt threw out the first pitch! 🇺🇸 And to top it all off, our band had the amazing honor of performing the National Anthem on the field!
The band sounded absolutely phenomenal and showed outstanding behavior throughout the entire event. We couldn’t be prouder — they truly made Bullock Creek shine! 💛🖤
It was a GREAT day to be a Lancer!

🌟 What an AMAZING day for our BCEL 2nd graders! 🌟
Today, BCEL's 2nd grade students had the incredible opportunity to visit our friends at Floyd Elementary, and it was truly one of our favorite days of the year! This special tradition brings the east and west sides of the district together to connect, explore, and celebrate the joy of learning side by side.
From laughing and dancing, to playing and sharing a meal, and even exploring a very large vernal pool in Floyd’s beautiful nature area — every moment was filled with curiosity, joy, and new friendships. 💚🌱
A HUGE thank you to the wonderful Floyd staff, Mrs. Moses, Mrs. Pretzer, and all the amazing teachers who poured so much time and heart into making this day a success. Your efforts created memories our students will never forget!
We LOVED our day at Floyd Elementary!

The third and fifth graders from Pine River had an unforgettable day at Dow Diamond on Tuesday, cheering the Great Lakes Loons to victory! From the crack of the bat to the roar of the crowd, it was a day full of excitement, school spirit, and lasting memories.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible chaperones for keeping the day safe and fun – we couldn't have done it without you!
Special thanks to Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics for generously donating tickets for our fifth grade students, and to Dow for providing third grade tickets through the Dow Student Heroes program. Your support made this fantastic day possible!

We had a visitor at Pine River this morning, which made the students very excited.

🌟 Thank You, Mrs. Pretzer & Ms. Mandy! 🌟
We want to give a huge shoutout to Mrs. Pretzer, our district’s incredible Nature Coordinator, and Ms. Mandy, the Midland County ESA's amazing Adaptive P.E. teacher, for organizing and leading the Peer 2 Peer group at BCEL this year!
This special lunchtime group brought together students from our 2nd grade classrooms and our ASD room—creating meaningful opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together. Through shared experiences, laughter, and friendship, these students showed us the true power of inclusion.
Without the thoughtful leadership and dedication of Mrs. Pretzer and Ms. Mandy, this group wouldn’t have been the success it was. Your impact on these students’ lives is immeasurable, and we are so grateful. 💛
At the heart of it all, we are reminded that what brings us together is our shared human need—to be accepted, to feel loved, and to find comfort in friendship. Here’s to continuing to build bridges, foster empathy, and celebrate what makes each of us beautifully unique.
