Floyd Elementary is so appreciative to have been chosen by Midland Costco for their 2025 Backpack Program. Backpacks were delivered to us today to pass out to all students at the open house & first day of school, along with a generous gift card for school supplies. THANK YOU!

🌟 Exciting Progress at Bullock Creek Elementary! 🌟

BCEL is looking great! We are truly making amazing progress on our construction updates! 🛠️✨

✅ Our new playground is absolutely beautiful and just waiting for our students to get out there and play!
✅ Inside the building, things are looking just as great — with shiny new floors, crisp, fresh paint, and a smart new lighting system that turns on with motion (yes, the lights literally follow you down the hall 😄)!
✅ We’ve also added new exterior lighting and a secure new door off the back of the gym storage area.

There's still work to be done, but the transformation is well underway, and it’s looking fantastic! We can’t wait for our Bullock Creek kids and families to see it all come together. 💛🖤

🌿 Celebrating Sustainability Champions! 🌿 We are thrilled to celebrate Tina Pretzer and Carri McGuire for their incredible work through the Sustainability Teacher Fellowship! This special program supports K–12 teachers in designing hands-on, place-based sustainability projects—and Tina and Carri brought that vision to life in the most meaningful way for our students. With support from professional development, community partnerships, and expert guidance through the fellowship, they created experiences that not only deepened students’ understanding of sustainability, but also brought our nature-based learning initiative to new heights. 🌱 Their projects connected classroom learning with the natural world, helping students engage with real-life environmental challenges and solutions—right in their own backyard. From building environmental awareness to fostering teamwork and problem-solving, their work strengthened the way we support our kids, both academically and emotionally. 💚 Thank you, Tina and Carri, for growing our sustainability efforts and planting seeds of curiosity, care, and responsibility in our students. Your impact is lasting, and we are so proud! 🌎✨

AP Biology students made a special visit to Pine River to teach some third graders all about Water Quality and its impact on the environment! Together, they explored the four essential elements of a healthy ecosystem — food, water, shelter, and space — and learned how water, both surface and groundwater, plays a crucial role in the health of plants and animals. Students got hands-on with a fun activity: creating their own filters to clean dirty water, all while applying the scientific method to test and improve their designs. A big thank you to Mrs. Crambell for organizing this engaging and educational experience!
