Today our BCMS 7th Grade Band performed the National Anthem at the Loons Game! Not only were they the featured group to play the anthem, they also performed it by MEMORY!

It was a perfect day for our 7th graders to attend a Great Lakes Loons' baseball game. The cherry on the top was that our 7th grade band performed the Star-Spangled Banner before the first pitch. Needless to say, we all had a great time!

Mrs. Holzhauer’s class at Pine River is taking on a fun STEM challenge — working in teams to design a bridge using just two pieces of paper, as they study forces. Their goal is to build the strongest bridge possible — one that can hold the most beans!

🌞 What an amazing start to our Friday!
At our school, mornings look a little different in every classroom — and that's what makes it so special. Some students kick off their day with breakfast and playtime to ease into the morning, while others dive into small group interventions or work 1:1 with staff on individual skills. Some enjoy a quiet moment with a good book, and others multitask with breakfast and work time together.
No matter how the day begins, one thing is always true: it's a great day to be here, learning and growing together! 💛📚✨

It’s not often we come across a book versus an electronic device. Well done!

🌧️🌿 Field trip day fun! Our 1st graders had an unforgettable adventure at the Chippewa Nature Center today—even the rain couldn’t dampen their excitement! From splashing in puddles to exploring with naturalists, our students learned through play and curiosity in the great outdoors.
We’re so grateful for our amazing partnership with the Chippewa Nature Center. Days like today are what learning is all about! 🌱🐾

Mrs. Gettel's class had fun in music with Mr. Jerashen and wanted to share their learning with the office! They learned a fun piece called "Swedish March" and used it to explore some exciting music skills — moving to the beat, singing do-mi-so-do’ melodies, and even trying out a round!

Miss Hatch’s class at Pine River practiced their reading fluency by performing the play The Mighty Hercules. Great expression, teamwork, and fun filled the room as they took the stage!

Mr. Wauldron's 1st hour PTLW (Project Lead The Way) class has been diving into the world of automation and robotics. Students are combining mechanical builds with programming as they explore gear systems, sensors and switches. Through hands on projects, they're learning how mechanisms like gear trains transfer movement and how to design and program automated systems to solve real-world challenges. It's innovative in action.

Mrs. Boothe's class enjoyed the beautiful weather and some outdoor reading.

Investigating and exploring are hallmarks of our nature program. Another important element is the development of student talk to develop reasoning. Students have the opportunity to hear and build upon others' ideas and articulate their thinking and understanding.
Mrs. Duhoski has built a classroom culture rich in student talk. Throughout their investigations of the vernal pool area and after, students engaged in meaningful conversations that developed their understanding.

Pine River 4th graders had a blast during Creek Week, learning survival skills like food, water, navigation, shelter, fire-building, and first aid! Huge thanks to Chippewa Nature Center for helping our young Lancer survivalists connect with nature!

It was a great evening of music as the BCMS bands performed for their spring concert. Music learned from throughout the year was played, students showcased a few solos and we even got to hear a couple of pieces from our jazz band. Hard work pays off and last night was no exception to that!

This month our Bullock Creek Board of Education honored Katie Stracke and Allison Rex as Lancer Leaders. Congratulations to them both, they are both very deserving recipients!

Bullock Creek Elementary and Floyd Elementary students engaged in various Earth Day activities.

📚✨ Big things are happening at BCEL! We’re so excited to dive our brand new Literacy program next year: Bookworms! 🐛💚
The excitement hit a whole new level today when our shiny new materials arrived!! We recruited the big muscles to help unload all the boxes 💪📦 (thank you, helpers!!). The girls were thrilled to jump in and be part of the action! We are ready to dive into some serious reading fun next year!
Let the Bookworm adventures begin! 🥳📖 #BCELBookworms #LiteracyLove #ReadersAreLeaders

To some, BCEL's pollinator garden looks like a mess at this time of year. To us, it is a place for exploring and connecting to nature.
We like to use this time to teach students about the importance of pollinators and how we can protect them by leaving the dead leaves a bit longer to protect them.
Today, Young 5's enjoyed the garden by drawing what it looks like now and using watercolor to paint what it will look like this summer and fall.

Today is Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Our transportation department is amazing! Creekers for a Cause celebrated our bus drivers with an afternoon treat of cookies and soda.
