Mrs. Diaz and her 3rd graders are using Play Doh to figure out the tough distributive property.

Another great night of volleyball vs Meridian! All of our teams played well and had a great time competing!

Thank you to all of our staff and WMFC for helping to teach bus safety!

Every single day, our teachers pour an incredible amount of care and love into their students. 💛 They take the time to learn each child’s needs, interests, and unique personalities so they can connect in meaningful ways. In the moments when students need that extra connection, our teachers are right there—making them feel loved, safe, and valued. 🌟 We are so grateful for the abundant love our teachers bring into their classrooms each day! 🍎✨
Thank you, Mrs. Chappel, for all of the love you pour into your students!
Thank you, Mrs. Chappel, for all of the love you pour into your students!

Students in Mrs. Parson's Nature Exploration class had some fun with apples this past week. They were able to run 2 different cider presses and make cider, prep apples for applesauce and plant the seeds that they collected.

Sixth grade student council campaigning at BCMS is in full swing! Students will vote for the four representatives this Friday. Awesome job with your creative and convincing posters!

The Pine River Elementary runners had a beautiful morning for a run at the Delta Invitational. Two runners ran 2 miles and the others ran 3/4 of a mile. They all ran hard and finished strong!

Congratulations BC Varsity!

Our Midland Township fire department is holding their open house today across from BCEL from 10-2pm. Stop by to enjoy all the firetrucks and fun activities!!

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, some of Bullock Creek Middle School's 8th grade PeerLIFT students attended the annual Kickoff Event at Bullock Creek High School. These students joined other middle school and high school PeerLIFT students around Midland County planning this year's themes and activities. The day was filled with a lot of energy, team-work and positivity. The goal of our PeerLIFT program is to educate students on mental health issues and promote a culture in our building and community where students feel safe and comfortable to ask for help.

💫 Big shoutout to two amazing boys from Ms. Murray’s class! 💫
They’ve been working so hard to grow as readers—and the best part is what great buddies they are along the way. 🤝 They cheer each other on and celebrate every win together.
Today, they both did an incredible job sharing their passages and even came to my office to read to me. Listening to them was the absolute highlight of my day! 📚💙
Way to go, readers!! Keep up the hard work—we are so proud of you! 👏👏

Mrs. Martin’s physics students measuring their reaction time with only a meter stick.

After reading the short story “Pancakes” by Joan Bauer, Mrs. Clare’s 3rd hour Honors English class took the lesson off the page. They whipped up their own pancakes—embracing the messy, imperfect fun (unlike Jill, our perfectionist protagonist). Literature tastes better with syrup!

Students in Mr. Wright's English 6 class are currently doing a novel study. Students are partner reading to create a strong and positive classroom culture while increasing student fluency and prosody.

🐢💚 The kids at BCEL made some tiny new friends today! During nature time, students had the chance to carefully handle and observe baby turtles up close. The excitement, curiosity, and gentle care they showed was priceless. What a special way to connect with nature! 🌿✨

The 4th graders at Pine River are kicking off Creek Week at the Chippewa Nature Center! This week, they’re exploring survival skills. Yesterday’s adventures included practicing compass skills and building different types of shelters like tarp shelters, debris huts, and lean-tos.

Floyd first graders are learning about plant parts and what plants need to grow. After drawing a picture of a plant with all of its parts, Mrs. Stevens' students planted bean seeds so they can observe the process of a seed turning into a sprout and then a plant.

We loved welcoming some members of Leadership Midland's Class of '25 to Floyd Elementary. They toured Floyd's nature areas and learned about our district -wide nature program.
Best of luck Leadership Midland's Class of 25!

Ms. Terrill and Mrs. Methner's classes have been learning about their senses in nature. They have also been enjoying time to play and explore.
