During the last week of school, the Pine River fifth-grade students prepared to showcase their talents through Reader's Theater. This dynamic activity allows these young learners to enhance their expression, fluency, and articulation skills. As they dive into various narratives and characters, their voices come alive, capturing the essence of each story. With each practice session, their confidence grows, and their abilities to engage and entertain flourish. Reader's Theater provide a platform for students to explore their creativity, foster a love for reading, and develop essential communication skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

A few Pine River Elementary fourth graders decided to do a service project to help pay off the lunch debt at Pine River Elementary. The girls decided to have a lemonade stand on the last day of school. They were able to enlist their siblings to help with advertising! Thanks to Dani Liphard for hosting the lemonade stand and for all who supported the students. A total of $216 was raised for the project.

Fourth grade student, Deegan, from Mrs. Miller's classroom, discovered in Health and Wellness that his favorite treat, a Slime Licker, has 84 teaspoons of sugar in it.

Last week Pine River Elementary fifth grade students presented their science experiment on the Egg Drop. Fortunately, a large percentage of eggs did survive! Students had to develop a design and then create their plan to have an egg withstand a drop from the roof of the building (a big thanks to Mrs. Bradley!).

In Health & Wellness the fourth graders started talking about how Food affects our Mood. We've been focusing on sugar. Learning about where it comes from, what our bodies do with sugar and how to find out HOW MUCH sugar is in our favorite drinks, snacks & treats. In this game called 'Sugar' the student in the center is trying to sit in the empty chair while all the other students shift to the empty seat next to them.
This game was a goofy way to demonstrate sugar trying to enter our bloodstream. With too much sugar in our diet it can form a build up which harms our health.

BCHS students, Kolton Riddle, Grace Stern and Natalie Williams set up a Book Give Away for the students at Pine River Elementary. Each student was able to select one book. A huge thank you to the high school students in their efforts to provide this opportunity for our students.

Maier & Associates Financial Group's charitable organization, Just For Kids, donated two bikes for each grade level to be given to students who displayed good citizenship. Molly Rauschert, a board member on Just For Kids was on hand on Friday to help with the presentation of a new bike and a new helmet for the students. Thank you for your support!
