"This is the best thing ever!" --1st Grader, Floyd
Mrs. Carey's class made their own Thunder Cake after reading the book by the same name by Michigan author Patricia Polacco.

Today the Floyd 5th Grade Kindness Club assisted our school counselor intern with presenting a lesson to our kindergartners. The 5th graders read a book and used an egg science experiment to show how kindness lifts others up.

Floyd Kindergarten and first grade students had a morning of adventures on Feelings Island. Students moved through each classroom as they learned how to care for their emotions and practiced building confidence through positive affirmations.

What fills my principal heart? Today it was when two 3rd graders entered a 5th grade classroom to record a reading goal, and the 5th graders stopped what they were doing to celebrate them. Unprompted.
I'm so proud to spend my days at Floyd. 🖤💛 ~Mrs. Moses
During this National School Counseling Week, Floyd Elementary is celebrating Mrs. Kristie Clark. Whether we are students or staff, she teaches us how to be our best even during our hardest times. Our school would not be the place it is without her dedication to us all. 🖤💛

Attention Floyd Elementary families! The next Coffee and Connect is next week following morning drop off. Join us!

Our hearts are full tonight as we celebrate an impressive 2nd place Battle of the Books finish with this amazing Floyd team! These readers gave up endless hours to read, read, and read some more, and we could not be more proud of them. Thank you to all who cheered them on. 🖤💛

Congratulations to these rockstar readers! They competed tonight and earned a spot in next week's Championship Battle in the Grace A. Dow Library Battle of the Books competition. It's down to two teams, and Floyd Elementary is one of them. Woot! Woot!

The Floyd playground was the place to be today thanks to Mrs. Chaffin and her bowling lane. 🎳❄️

Floyd 1st graders experienced the Delta College Planetarium today and enjoyed the lessons Follow the Drinking Gourd and Legend of the Night Sky. This was a trip perfectly paired with a recent nature lesson provided by the Chippewa Nature Center.

Mrs. Crego, our Floyd math coach, and Mrs. Diaz's 3rd graders are flexing their math muscles with their Number Corner workouts earlier today.

Floyd Elementary is excited to welcome our next group of Young 5's and Kindergarteners. If you know someone ready to join for next year, please share with them that they are invited to join us for more information on February 5th at 6PM. Presentation begins at 6:15PM.

Floyd 2nd grader, Olivander, is teaching Paisley how to do the daily update for Number Corner in Mr. Gusler's classroom. All classrooms are now participating in these creative, daily math workouts.

What a fun week we're having at Floyd! Today we welcomed back some special guests; author/singers Mike and Alexandria McMath, and then Kiwassee Kiwanis Club treated first graders to a Santa event. We are so thankful to make these special memories together.

Floyd students were recently treated to a beautiful holiday concert by the Bullock Creek Varsity Band. They were impressive as always--the band and the audience. Thank you to all!

Mornings at Floyd begin with a morning meeting to build classroom community and practice new skills. Ms. Simons' students were thoughtfully engaged and intentional in their discussion today.

Yahoo! The sleds arrived after dismissal today. This lovely crew got them unpacked and ready for the playground tomorrow. So thankful for helpful school friends!

Wow! What a night, Floyd! This year's Halloween Walk didn't disappoint! Thank you to everyone who helped and came out to join in on the fun! Our resident DJ kept us dancing and having a good time right to the end. 🎃
