BCEL's second grade students had the chance to do some public speaking this week through an authors share event! Parents were treated to the published works of their students as they bravely got up on stage to read their pieces! We are so incredibly proud of all the hard work that went into this event. Students planned, drafted, revised, and published their writing in order to be ready for authors share.
Thank you 2nd grade teachers for all the work put into this experience for our kids and our families!

This week BCEL was filled with so many events and activities! We were feeling the love of Valentine's Day!!
Ms. Terrill, one of our Young Fives teachers, organized a school-wide community service project. She, along with our other amazing classroom teachers, had BCEL students make Valentine's Day cards for the residents of Riverside. Ms. Terrill delivered our cards and art projects on Wednesday so that the residents could receive something special on a day filled with love!
We sure do love to spread the love :)
Thank you, Ms. Terrill, for organizing this project!

To end National Counselors Week BCEL wants to brag all over our very own superhero, Mrs. Clapp!! Mrs. Clapp not only supports our students and families but she adds positivity, spunk, and support to our staff and school culture!! BCEL would not be the same without the unwavering support of our Mrs. Clapp. The entire BCEL family wants to shout it from the rooftops: WE LOVE OUR MRS. CLAPP!!! Thank you for all that you do for us!!

Ms. Heider's Young Five readers were treated to an amazing experience today as they paired up with our 2nd-grade friends in Mrs. Napoli's class! These Little Lancers enjoyed reading books together, talking about the story they were enjoying, and learning from each other! We love it when classrooms collaborate to create lasting memories for our students! Thank you Ms. Heider and Mrs. Napoli for working together to provide this opportunity to your BCEL kids!

BCEL is so excited to meet all of our upcoming 24/25 Young Five and Kindergarten students tomorrow night at our open house/round-up event!

Mrs. Duhoski's 2nd-grade scientists are exploring the water cycle this week! Mrs. Dopp's 2nd-grade students are experimenting with the 3 states of matter and chemical reactions!
These little Lancers are so engaged in their learning promoting student-led learning, purposeful conversations, and students having opportunities to experience peer questioning! What an amazing way to learn!!

Bullock Creek's TK/Y5s/Kindergarten Round-Up is coming up next week. Floyd Elementary will have their orientation on Wednesday, Jan. 31st from 6-7 pm and Bullock Creek Elementary will hold theirs on Thursday, Feb. 1st from 6-7 pm.
Please, share this post to remind all prospective parents of the opportunity to come learn more about our nature programs at BCEL and Floyd.
Thanks for helping spread the word!

Mrs. Napoli and Mrs. Dopp's 2nd-grade students at BCEL have had a blast sledding this week! Being out in nature releasing some energy before persevering on their winter benchmark assessments! Research shows that when kids can get outside in their natural environment increases performance on structured tasks in the classroom.
Mrs. Napoli and Mrs. Dopp loved watching their students naturally live in the moment allowing the moment to be what it was; magical, silly, and adventurous!

Our very own superhero, Carter Schofield, has beaten cancer!!!!!! Ring that bell Carter!!! Your Bullock Creek family is so extremely excited for this journey to be over for you! This amazing boy has shown grit, strength, and perseverance!! Time to celebrate!!

This morning our BCEL students were treated to an amazing holiday concert by our high school Varsity band! We enjoyed all of the festive tunes, the sing-alongs, and listening to our very own Mrs. Griggs sing 'White Christmas'! We are so thankful to Mrs. Bossenberger, BC's band director, for arranging for us to come and enjoy some fun holiday songs!!

BCEL's kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade music classes put on amazing holiday concerts on Wednesday!! Mrs. Griggs worked so hard with our students to make things jolly and festive!! Thank you, Mrs. Griggs for all your hard work to put on these concerts!!
It was so nice to hear our Little Lancers sing to a gym full of adorning parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles!!!

Are you ready for some lights!? ⛄🌟🎄Tonight, Friday, Dec. 8, from 6-7:30 PM, the BC/PR PTO Stay in Your Sleigh Holiday Parade is set to dazzle and delight at BCEL! Buckle up for a reverse parade and a drive-through light experience. Keep your eyes peeled for some treats throughout the route – snag a free kids' hot chocolate coupon from the delightful Journeys Coffeehouse, and deck your home with some Creek swag courtesy of the fabulous Lakeside Creative Shop!
Here are a few key reminders to ensure you have a holly-jolly time:
- Navigate the sparkling path starting at the BC South Little League ball fields on Miller Rd. There is a slightly modified route this year; follow the traffic director, cones, and arrows to keep the holiday spirit flowing smoothly.
- Please be respectful of Miller Rd. residents trying to make their way in or out of their driveways.
- Embrace the anticipation of a 30+ minute drive-through experience – though with the holiday magic, time might just fly by!
- While the event is a gift to the community, feel free to spread the cheer by making donations. Contributions will be divvied up among various Bullock Creek nonprofit and school organizations, including BC/PR PTO, Journeys Coffeehouse, BC Girl Scouts, BCMS Student Council, and BlitzCreek Robotics.
So, fasten your seatbelts, bring your holiday spirit, and let's make this a night to remember! Be safe, be festive, and have a wonderful ride!

Mr. Hale popped in to BCEL today to see what we were up to. We love our visits from our Superintendent!!! Mr. Hale heard all about gratitude from Mrs. Duhoski's 2nd graders and all about what Mrs. Southwell's writers were working on.
We sure are grateful for such a caring leader!! Thanks for visiting us, Mr. Hale!!!

Mrs. Woods’ class had a great time at the CNC today! We learned about life in the lives of the 1870 farm families. We loved learning how to grind corn, feed the farm animals, saw logs, and pump water. These are just a few of the chores we learned about! We had so much fun!!!!
