Snow much fun yesterday with all of our beautiful wet snow we got! It was the perfect snow for making gigantic snowballs!!

1st grade fun in the snow storm!!

At BCEl, Mrs. Heldund's class has been spending some time tapping trees! They will be checking on the sap bag daily during the month of March.

Shared from Mrs. Napoli's post- BCEL Today was all about inspiring leaders! Well folks, HERE THEY ARE! This morning we had the pleasure of reading to Mrs. Bradley’s Young 5s class! I observed your child being a leader in the following ways: ✔️Students worked hard to practice their reading in advance. ✔️Our class respectively greeted their new Young 5s friend and made them feel comfortable. ✔️Students were respectful of the learning space. ✔️Everyone read clearly and took their time to be sure their Young 5 friend could follow along. ✔️Students engaged Young 5 friends in a fun I Spy activity following their reading. I heard kind direction, coaching, sharing, and giggling. ✔️Before leaving, students shared handmade bookmarks with words of reading encouragement for our new Young 5 friends. Your child kindly thanked their partner, and shared friendly waves goodbye. This experience really warmed my heart! We’ll be doing it again next week with Ms. Heider’s Young 5s class. We can’t wait! Please share an extra hug with your child, they sure are amazing leaders! I’m so proud of them!

Meet your next teacher feature!!!-- Mrs. Napoli!!

Ms. Allie from CNC led our Young 5’s classes through an activity to explore how bird beaks are adapted for the type of food they eat. They also went on a hike through the woods to hang food for the birds.

Mrs.Woods nature para, Ms. Rae, bought in an alligator skull for the 1st graders to explore!! They are studying nocturnal animals and learned that alligators are one of those nocturnal animals! Thanks Ms. Rae for sharing!!

Happy Valentines Day from Mrs. Fleming!!!

Does it get much better than sliding down a hill on your way to a camp fire at school? BCEL students had the chance to do that on Friday. At the campfire, Mrs. Clapp read a book about empathy and kindness and led them in a mindfulness activity. We even had the chance for a few scientific observations about the changes in states of matter they were seeing. It was a great day for our BCEL Lancers.

Yesterday Mrs. Napoli's students built landform models and used them to discover an important principle about how rivers work. Spray bottles were used to release rain fall. Students then observed how the water always flowed from the landform’s highest points to its lowest points.
They had so much fun!

Lea W bought the reward of being "teacher for the afternoon" through her Dopp dollars. Mrs. Dopp's 2nd graders earn Dopp dollars for all things positive! What a fun reward! Ms. W was a well organized teacher with thought out lesson plans! Great job, Lea!!!

Kindergarten, Young 5’s and Transitional Kindergarten students across the district have been enjoying the snow while exploring push and pull forces.

Our teachers are all ready rocking out our virtual learning this morning! So proud of them, our students, and our families!!!

Mrs.Dopps 2nd grade nature explorers wondered whether or not it was cold enough to freeze bubbles today???...it was! Great discovery little scientists!!

2nd Graders at BCEL joined Ms. Allie from Chippewa Nature Center in exploring to find evidence of animals in the woods and meadow.

Mrs. Reid's kindergarteners are exploring states of matter. They were changing the color of the snow with a liquid!!

Mrs.Boothe's 2nd grade nature explorers found out that snow stays as a solid even if you change its shape! Great discovery little scientists!!

Our nature 1st grade team was hard at work today!!!

Creekers for a Cause donated over 15 pairs of waterproof gloves and mittens, hats, and knitted gloves to our nature program. Having warm outdoor gear is an important part of ensuring our students have positive learning experiences outdoors. We are grateful for their donation.

Mrs. Dopp's 2nd grade students did a great job with their readers theater this morning!!! They got to perform for Mrs.Cassows kindergarteners!!
