Kindergarten Families,
We’ve had to make a last minute change to the door kindergarten students will use for their drop off and pick up the first eight days of school due to the grass seed that’s been planted. I am including a picture of the door in hopes it helps guide those of you who are less familiar with our building. It is only two doors down from the door the rest of the students are using and will be marked and staffed.
It important for all of our families that the traffic keeps moving in the drop off/pick up line.
In the morning, use a parking space if you will be getting out of your car and walking your child to the door. Stay in line if you are allowing your child to exit and walk to the kindergarten door on his or her own.
At the end of the day, use a parking space if you are picking up your kindergartener from the door. Stay in line if you are allowing your kindergartener to walk to the car on his or her own. If you have other children to pick up, stay in line until a staff member approaches your car to to register your arrival and notify the classroom teacher. Then you are welcome to stay in line for your child to come to you or go to a parking spot if you are meeting your child at the door. For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to cross the parking lot without you.
The parking lot will be busy the first couple of weeks as new families and students get familiar with our process. It will smooth out and flow quite well after some practice. If you would like to avoid some of the traffic, I recommend not arriving at the 3:40 dismissal but closer to 3:46. That allows the first wave of cars to exit.
