The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library is always looking for Teen Advisory Board members. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy some free snacks, help plan upcoming events, and earn volunteer hours.  The March meeting will take place next Monday, March 6 from 6-7 pm at the library. No need to register in advance. Just drop in! If you’d like to sign up for additional volunteer hours, come to the meeting with your March availability so you know when you can volunteer this month.

Friends, just a reminder that Track sign-ups are in the cafeteria.  Track is open to all 7th and 8th graders. Responsible 6th graders may practice with the team, but will only be able to compete in two meets. Optional track conditioning starts on March 6 and official practices start on April 3. You MUST have a sports physical on file in the office in order to attend conditioning and practice. You do not have to have any previous sports or running experience to join the team! With 17 events to choose from, there is something for everyone! There are absolutely no tryouts or cuts! All we ask is that you work hard at practices and be on your best behavior at practices and meets. Track is also open to dual sport athletes who play baseball, softball, soccer, and other sports. If you are interested, sign up in the cafeteria and pick up an info sheet.  Track sign- ups will be open until spring break.

Are you looking for something fun to do this summer?   Chippewa Nature Center is just the answer!  They are looking for volunteers to help with their Nature Day Camp Programs.  They have 3 different volunteer positions available:  Counselor -in -Training, Activity Crew Member, and Crew Leader.  All teen volunteers help their supervising counselor prepare for camp in the morning, engage campers in the activities, assist with crafts, read stories, play games, supervise lunchtime activities, and help clean up in the afternoon.  In return for their volunteer time, Teen Volunteers receive a t-shirt, coaching on leadership and working with kids from their counselor, experience in a work-like (but fun) environment, and over 60 volunteer hours.  If you are interested, please stop by and see Mrs. Fermoyle in the Counseling Office for more information on how to apply.
